Clinical Counseling

I  AM  ABLE has a team of compassionate and professional clinicians with a broad range of counseling experience and skills.

Counseling Services Available:

  • Individuals (Adults 18 and over)
  • Infants (birth - 5 years of age)
  • Youth (6-12 years of age)
  • Adolescents (13-17 years of age)
  • Couples Counseling (pre-marital, married, cohabitating, other)
  • Familiy Counseling  (entire families, combinations of members, other)

 

Issues addressed in therapy, but not limited to:

Behavior concerns Trauma Substance Abuse
Communication issues Depression Anger Management
Relationship issues Anxiety Family Conflict
Self-esteem Child Abuse Academic Underachievement
Grief and loss Life change issues Domestic Violence

All counseling services are offered in both English & Spanish

 

Payment for Services:

  • There is no charge for families who are currently involved with DCFS (Department of Children and Family Services - Investigation, Intact Services, Placement Services, Guardianship and Post-Adoption). Documentation is required prior to services being rendered in order to confirm status with DCFS.
  • For non-DCFS clients, a sliding fee scale is available. Cost per session is determined by gross annual household income.
    • Please note that there is a fee of $35 for the initial intake assessment.
    • Fees for subsequent counseling services is determined during the intake session.
    • Please note that we do not accept the medical card for payment.

 

How to enroll in services:

  • Contact intake coordinator at 773-826-2929 ext.211 to schedule an intake appointment.
    • For Spanish speaking clients, contact 773-826-2929 ext.205.
    • Intake appointments last approximately an hour and a half.
    • All person whom will be receiving services need to be present.
  • After intake, case will be placed in the waiting list.
    • Waiting list is approximately 1 to 2 weeks.
